In 2015, Dave made the decision to move to the charming town of Cheltenham, where he established a new life alongside his partner, Chris. Almost immediately, the couple developed a strong affinity for the local arts scene, particularly the Hardwicke Players, a vibrant amateur theatre group known for their captivating performances. Each year, without fail, Dave and Chris attended the shows, with Dave finding immense joy in sitting front and centre, where he could fully immerse himself in the theatrical experience. He became notorious for his enthusiastic heckling, which added an extra layer of entertainment to the performances, all while witnessing the Hardwicke Players flourish and evolve.

As time went on, what started as casual attendance blossomed into meaningful connections within the group. Dave’s jovial spirit and lively personality naturally drew others to him, leading to invitations to participate more actively in the theatre community. Embracing this new role, Dave dove headfirst into the vibrant world of the Hardwicke Players and has never looked back since.

What the Hardwicke Players initially didn’t realize was that Dave had a dazzling secret: he was a celebrated drag queen known throughout Gloucestershire for his unique performances and love for heavy metal music. Under the name he took on in the drag scene, Dave excelled in captivating audiences with his powerful voice and engaging stage presence. His remarkable talent culminated in a significant achievement when he was crowned the winner of Drag Wars 2017. While it may not have been quite the same as competing on RuPaul’s Drag Race, this triumph fuelled Dave’s passion and creativity.

With each passing performance, Dave continues to astonish and entertain, leaving all who experience his artistry wondering just how far his Charisma, Uniqueness, Nerve, and Talent will take him in the future.
