Today we celebrate International Joke Day — a day dedicated to laughter, smiles, and the joy of sharing a good (or sometimes terribly bad) joke! 😄🌍

They say laughter is the best medicine, and there’s nothing quite like a well-timed joke to lift spirits, bring people together, and create memories 💛

At the Hardwicke Players, we know that humour is a huge part of what makes theatre so special 🎭✨

Whether it’s:
😂 A perfectly delivered punchline on stage
🎬 A funny moment that happens during rehearsals
👀 A bit of backstage banter
☕ A joke shared during a break

…it’s often these little moments of laughter that become some of our favourite memories!
Our members know that comedy isn’t always just about the script — sometimes the funniest moments are the unexpected ones that happen along the way 😆

So today, we celebrate the comedians, the storytellers, the quick thinkers, and everyone who brings a little extra laughter into our lives 🌟

And because no Joke Day would be complete without a terrible dad joke… here’s one for you:

At our drama group, cameras play a big part in our journey:

This week we recognise Deafblind Awareness Week — a time to raise awareness, promote understanding, and celebrate the experiences, achievements, and contributions of people who are deafblind 🌍💛

Deafblindness affects people in different ways, and every individual has their own unique experiences, strengths, and ways of communicating. With the right support, accessibility, and understanding, people who are deafblind can lead fulfilling lives, achieve their goals, and be valued members of their communities ✨

This week is about:
🤝 Building awareness and understanding
💬 Recognising different ways people communicate
🧡 Promoting inclusion and accessibility
🌟 Celebrating individuality, independence, and achievement

At the Hardwicke Players, we are fortunate to have members who don’t just support inclusion within our group, but dedicate their working lives to supporting others with lifelong conditions, including those who are deafblind 💛

Their compassion, patience, and commitment help make a real difference every single day — ensuring individuals are supported, respected, and given the opportunity to live their life to the fullest 🌟

We are incredibly proud of the kindness and care shown by our members, both on and off the stage 🎭

Theatre is about connection, communication, and telling every person’s story. We believe everyone should have the opportunity to be heard, included, and celebrated 💛

At The Hardwicke Players, the summer solstice feels a little like opening night energy:

Can you believe that this evening marks one week since we took our final bow with Murder! Mystery! – And Suspenders? 🔍🎭

After weeks of rehearsals, late nights, laughter, challenges, and the excitement of performance week, the adrenaline has definitely started to dip 😴😂. The theatre may be quiet, but the memories are still very much alive ❤️✨

So, while everyone adjusts to life after the show, we thought we’d share a little something to bring back some of the moments that made this production so special 📸🎭

From those first rehearsals 📖, building the set 🛠️, creating props 🕰️, backstage moments 👀, unexpected twists 🎢, and finally sharing the show with our audiences — every moment was part of the journey.

What an incredible journey it has been! From the very first read-through 📖, through the rehearsals, set building 🛠️, prop creation 🕰️, unexpected twists and thats not just in the script 🎢, and all the laughter along the way 😂 — we have finally reached the end of our comedy whodunnit.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and supported the show 👏❤️. Your laughter, reactions, and enthusiasm helped make each performance so special.

To our amazing cast and crew — thank you for your dedication, creativity, patience, and commitment. 🎭✨ This production has had its fair share of surprises, but together we turned every challenge into another reason to work as a team. 💪❤️
