January 2006 - The Merchants of Gloucester
Chosen charity: The Gloucester & District Branch of the Alzheimer's Society.
The Alzheimer's Society works tirelessly in researching dementia and supporting Alzheimers sufferers and their families. The Hardwicke Players were delighted to raise £900 for this worthwhile charity.
January 2007 - Robyn Hood & The Legend of Sherwood
Chosen charity: Winston's Wish
When a child is bereaved of a parent, sibling or other close family member, Winston's Wish strives to provide help and support. From their original pantomime of Robyn Hood, The Hardwicke Players were able to raise £800 for Winston's Wish in their continuing support of bereaved children and young people.
January 2008 - Cinderella: Mystery at the pantomime
Chosen charity: Cloud 9 and the Williams Syndrome Foundation.
The Hardwicke Players were proud to be supporting Cloud 9 who's aim is grant wishes for terminally ill children.
The Hardwicke Players also supported the national charity the Williams Syndrome Foundation.
January 2009 - Jack & the Beanstalk
Chosen group: Gloucestershire Lymphoedema Support Group
From profits of their January 2009 pantomime, Jack & the Beanstalk, The Hardwicke Players will be delighted to support the Gloucestershire Lymphoedema Support Group based at the Wheatstone Day Hospice in Gloucester.
January 2010 - The Three Musketeers
Chosen group: National Star College
The Hardwicke Players are delighted to have donated profits from this production to the National Star College in Ullenwood, Gloucestershire's independent specialist college working alongside young people with physical and associated learning difficulties.
June 2011 - Murder on the Midnight train
Chosen group: Scoo-B-Doo
Gloucestershire Special Care Baby Unit (SCBU) provide much needed help for premature babies and other babies in need of special care. Scoo-B-Doo work in partnership with the Gloucestershire Special Care Baby Unit to raise much needed funds for ventialators, monitors, incubators and other advanced life saving equipment. The Hardwicke players are delighted to have raised money for this worthy cause, by fundraising in Gloucester town centre and a sponsored walk from Gloucester town centre to Quedgeley.
January 2012 - Wizard of Oz
Chosen charity: The Huntington’s Disease Association.
In 2012, The Hardwicke Players are delighted to support the Gloucestershire branch of the Huntington’s Disease Association.
Huntington’s Disease (HD) is a neurological disorder and is the third most common inherited disease in the UK. It is a hereditary condition which is caused by a faulty gene and leads to damage of the nerve cell, affecting a person in a variety of ways: physically, emotionally and cognitively.
